| Starting the service |
|
For starting the service the user needs to register with an e-mail address on the download webpage via the internet connection running on the smartphone, and install Jitti. For the registration only an e-mail address and a password needed, and a nickname may be given if the user wants to submit posts on the Forum. After this a free Standard service is active, and with starting Jitti on the smartphone, the user may start traffic flow monitoring and data submission. Information on how Jitti works, see below. If the user wants to enjoy other services of the system, may register for a Premier service offers. For this please see the table of services (under development).
User smartphone requirements
* About 100-200MB data connection traffic expectable per month with twice a day operation period. (Data connection subscription may occure as additional cost, but without it, data connection traffic may cause unreasonably high costs. The service in under testing, Jitti Ltd. does not bear any responsibility for the accuracy of the estimations.)
How Jitti works The Jitti software can be installed directly from the download webpage to the smartphone (please see Installation guide). In follow mode Jitti is fixing our position to the middle of the screen, while in map mode the selected area is on the smartphone display independently from our position. We can get to the selected area by scrolling the map. Touching the double right-arrow on the display, we switch back to follow mode, and by scrolling the map, we automatically switch to map mode. The green satellite dish icon on the display shows that GPS, data upload and download are working properly. If any of these is missing, the icon changes to red. Touching the icon, Jitti displays the actual status or the reason of the error (ie. no GPS signal in a covered area). We get colored traffic flow information on the map. Blue – very good speed, green – good traffic tempo, yellow – moderate speed, red - very slow traffic. More precise speed values versus the colors see on the Jitti settings screen, under the Legend icon. Getting to the settings screen is by pressing the blue gears icon. We can set more precise color range by switching the Use limited color tick box off under Color Coding. During our journey the speed and position data are uploaded to the server, and we receive the summarized data, according to our requested settings, measured and submitted by other drivers as well (see traffic speed profiles). Online help is available directly on the smartphone on the settings page. Jitti then opens the help page on the internet via the data connection. |
